Give to the work
Free, accessible programming for North Texans who are aging or living with disabilities. Year round, not just when there is an event.
What your gift does
We do not have a building. That is deliberate. Not having one means your gift goes into programming and into the places our community already gathers—the park, the trail, the library, the meeting room—instead of into rent. It also means accessibility is built into how we operate rather than added on afterward.
Access & Lifelong Learning
The Community Book Club is an inclusive, low-barrier reading program where adults practice the things nobody teaches directly: holding a conversation, disagreeing kindly, sitting with a person and looking them in the eye. We run a Libro.fm audiobook playlist alongside every selection, so you can join whether you read with your eyes or your ears. ALL Pathways provides vocational training and mentorship that helps adults build job readiness and connect to actual employment.
Community Connect
CALME Saturdays is a free, fully accessible outdoor wellness series at Anderson Bonner Park, in partnership with the City of Dallas. Yoga, Pilates, adaptive movement, with seated modifications at every session. We stage where the paved path meets the parking lot so that people using mobility devices can join from either side, because access that requires a hike is not access. The North Texas Green Atlas maps free and accessible green space, food providers, and civic places across the region, so that where green space is missing, the absence itself becomes a documented gap.
Give where you intend to give
The CALME Space General Fund
Supports both pillars: the book club, ALL Pathways, CALME Saturdays, and the Green Atlas. This is the right choice if you want to support the organization's work as a whole.
Friends of Anderson Bonner Park
Restricted to park stewardship: clean-up supplies, trail maintenance, accessibility and wayfinding signage, and advocacy for trail lighting and safety.
One park, two roles.
Friends of Anderson Bonner Park leads trail care, clean-ups, signage, and park advocacy. The CALME Space provides 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship (EIN 39-4164328) and runs community wellness programming at the park. All donations and volunteer records are received and administered through The CALME Space.
